Here’s hoping the stage stays intact!

SNOW White and her seven dwarfs are tempting fate by staging the fairy tale classic in Moretonhampstead next week.

Last time local players staged the show the stage collapsed during a dress rehearsal – and the national press covered the calamity.

But that was in 1984.

Show spokesman Ceri Woolway is hoping for a trouble-free run.

Some of the cast from all those years ago are in the latest production.

Heather Ellis, who played Grumpy in the show 33 years ago, returns as the magic mirror.

Jane Sansom (formerly Moore) was Prince Rupert originally. This time she is Happy.

The show runs from February 14-18.
