A PLANNING inquiry to determine the fate of controversial plans to build 90 new homes at Vicarage Hill on Penns Mount in Kingsteignton is underway.
Developers Codex Land Promotion applied for planning permission to build the houses but Teignbridge Council didn’t make a decision in the allotted time.
Codex appealed to the planning inspector and as a result a planning inquiry, which is expected to last three days, is being held at the council’s Forde House HQ.
A second inquiry is being held at the same time on a further application submitted by the developers to build on the prominent Penns Mount hilltop. This application was thrown out by Teignbridge Council because the land Codex want to build on is a green space set aside for the community.
