Seven heaven now in Devon The ‘motor for the millions’, the Austin Seven, now has its own club in the area. Introduced in 1922 the low-priced motor enabled an entirely new public to become car owners, the realistic option beforehand being motorcycle and sidecar. Not only was the Austin Seven cheap to buy and inexpensive to run, it incorporated many ‘big car’ features such as a four-cylinder engine, four-wheeled braking and seating for a family of four.
