THERE has been disruption to the railway this morning, Wednesday, May 28, after a train broke down in the Exeter St Davids area.

Lines have reopened following the incident, though Network Rail has said to expect disruption until 10am.

Both CrossCountry and Great Western Railway services have been affected by the breakdown.

Trains running through Exeter may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised, Network Rail has said.

Travellers may be entitled to compensation if journey times have been delayed.

‘Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim’ Network Rail said.
