Teignmouth Promenade parkrun is back on after a suspected bomb on the beach was found to have been harmless.

Authorities gave the town the all clear and lifted a 200m safety cordon last night.

Parkrun organisers had initially cancelled the event on Saturday morning (May 24) as the evacuation zone included the parkrun stores and much of the seafront route.

A suspected bomb on Teignmouth’s main beach was found yesterday lunchtime.

The organisers of Teignmouth Promenade parkrun had initially made an early decision to avoid a last-minute call. However, they were able to reinstate the event when the town was given the all clear.
