Hallelujah and praise the Lord!

Newton Abbot’s  Alexandra Theatre will be blessed once again by students from NEWTS, Newton Abbot and  Musical Comedy Society’s award-winning youth section, when they present Sister Act JR The Musical at the venue next month.

The  divine production, which will be playing between May 6 and 9, is based on the hit film of the same name, and  tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a high-spirited aspiring singer, who witnesses a murder and is forced to enter the Queen of Angels convent under witness protection.

Raise your voice is this musical's beautiful, central message about a wilful songstress who finds grace and fulfilment in the place she least expects it.

It is only when Deloris takes sanctuary that she finds her place in the world; through the framework of this musical the young performers show how each of us can find our unique way to express ourselves and the power of love and friendship.

‘The cast of Sister Act Jr consists of 40 talented young performers aged between 8-17 years,’ said director Claire Holden.

’This fabulous musical promises to lift your spirits, fill your heart with joy, and will blow the roof off  The Alexandra Theatre, which we’re so happy to be performing in again. You do not want to miss it.’.
