Kingsteignton-based minerals company Sibelco welcomed more than 1,500 people to an open day on Saturday. Visitors of all ages were treated to guided tours of the company's ball clay operations to learn all about one of the region's most famous exports. In addition to the tours, guests could try their hand on a potter's wheel and get a close-up view of some birds of prey. Younger visitors enjoyed pony rides, face painting and craft making activities.The event was based at Abbrook Park, Kingsteignton, and was one of the regular one Sibelco organises to provide communities with a chance to see all of its UK mineral operations.
