A NEWTON Abbot man has been disqualified from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

David Bearne, 74, of Devon Square, was fined £230 for driving over the limit on January 9 2022 on Bovey Road on the A382.

He was recorded with 41 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath when tested. The legal limit is 35.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and prosecution costs of £85.
