Up to 50 jobs at the Kingsteignton branch of Homemaker could be under threat after it was confirmed the parent company had gone into administration.
Sixteen members of staff are already thought to have been given their cards – some told over the phone – and ordered to leave immediately.
Workers have been left reeling by the news which came just a year since the home furnishings business in Greenhill Way was sold by the Plymouth and South West Co-operative Society to Liverpool-based Vergo Retail Ltd.
