FIRE fighters took control as fallen arcing electric cables were reported in Teignmouth yesterday evening (Sunday).

Fire Control received many calls from the public reporting an arcing electrical cable in Mill Lane.

One fire engine from Teignmouth attended and worked alongside the police to close the road.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: ‘The cables were on the ground causing slight damage to the road and interfering with local property lights.

‘The incident was passed onto western power on their arrival.’
