A BEDROOM was destroyed in a fire at Kingskerswell yesterday (Tuesday).
Two Fire Engines from Torquay were originally sent to a report of a house fire at Torquay Road.
Further 999 calls to Fire Control indicated that there may be someone still inside the property unable to get out, so a further Fire Engine was sent from Paignton.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: ‘On arrival crews confirmed this was a fire in a first floor bedroom of a two storey domestic house.
‘All persons were accounted for, however an Ambulance was requested for one male suffering smoke inhalation.
‘Crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and two Thermal Imaging Cameras.
‘The first floor bedroom was totally destroyed by fire and smoke and the rest of the property was damaged by smoke.
‘The cause of the fire was accidental.’
