A TRIKE rider was injured when he came off his three-wheeler machine at Forches Cross over the weekend.

The casualty, aged 78 and from Newton Abbot, suffered hip and leg injuries in the accident which happened just before 2.30pm on Saturday.

He was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment to ‘minor injuries.’

His Yamaha machine was in collision with a blue Honda Jazz near the Bovey Road junction with Forches Cross Road.

The accident caused major tailbacks on the A382. The road was reopened an hour later.

Police and paramedics attended the scene.
