Two fire crews - from Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey - dealt with the incident in Princetown Road on Friday afternoon. Heat was so intense from the blazing car that it cracked windows at nearby properties. A section of garden hedge was also affected by the fire which happened just after 4.30pm. Breathing gear was worn by firefighters who used a hosereel jet to extinguish the blaze. A fire spokesman confirmed the vehicle was destroyed.
