A WOMAN was hurt when her car crashed off the A380 outside Newton Abbot this afternoon.

The casualty, thought to be in her 40s and from the Bristol area, suffered minor injuries in the accident just before 1pm.

She was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for a check-up.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident which involved a Mitsubishi Colt leaving the carriageway and flipping over on its side.

The drama happened on the Newton Abbot-bound carriageway towards Eagle Farm at Kingsteignton.

Police dealt with the incident together with two fire crews from Newton Abbot and one from Torquay.
