A PRISONER at Channings Wood Prison outside Newton Abbot has been charged with an alleged sex attack on a 13-year-old girl which happened 16 years ago.
Police, after a cold-case review, have charged 58-year-old William Pope with indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16.
The matter relates to an incident said to have happened on October 22, 2003, in the Truro area.
Pope has already appeared via video link at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court.
He will now be held in remand until a further hearing at Truro Crown Court on July 23.
