A CHILD was rushed to hospital after a two-car smash at roadworks along the A380 between Newton and Kingsteignton this afternoon.
The infant was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment, although the injuries are not thought to be serious, police revealed later.
The accident happened on the Exeter-bound carriageway of Besigheim Way just after 1pm.
Heavy traffic was reported, hampering the early Friday getaway for the weekend.
A police spokesman said both vehicles had to be recovered.
Firefighters were also called to the scene.
