TWO fire crews extinguished a kitchen blaze in Chudleigh’s Fore Street on Monday night.

Teams from Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot dealt with the ground floor blaze involving an electrical cupboard.

The alarm was raised just after 7pm with four sets of breathing gear worn to deal with the smoke-filled property.

Two hosereel jets and a dry powder extinguisher knocked out the flames.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke.

A fire spokesman said the cause was accidental.
