FIREFIGHTERS released a motorist trapped inside his car following a single vehicle collision on the A38 earlier this morning (Sunday).
Crews from Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot and Moretonhampstead
responded to the incident on A38 between Drumbridges and Goodstone Cross junctions just before 8.15am where a blue BMW had come to an abrupt halt in trees off the carriageway.
‘On arrival crews confirmed that one male was trapped in the vehicle,’ said a spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
‘Hydraulic cutting gear and small tools were used to release the male casualty and crews cleared debris at the scene, leaving the area safe for other road users.’
The casualty was left in the care of a ambulance personnel and according to the Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team ‘’he was very lucky not to have serious injuries’’.
