A HIT-and-run motorist is being sought by police in Newton Abbot.

The drive-away offender’s car was seen to crash into a street light in Manor View on Easter Sunday.

The light was left hanging unsafely over vehicles, said a police spokesman.

The accident happened at about 9.15pm.

Police said the make and model of the crashing car were not known.
