HEROIN and crack cocaine were seized during a drugs raid in Newton Abbot.

Officers found a large number of wraps containing the Class A drugs during a swoop on a property in Prospect Terrace.

Two men and a woman were detained at the scene in connection with the discovery of the haul on Wednesday last week.

The November 8 strike came after ‘numerous complaints’ in the neighbourhood about anti-social behaviour at the property.

Police were joined in the operation by an anti-social behaviour officer from Teignbridge Council and a safety official from the fire service.

A police spokesman said: ‘There were numerous people within the property. One woman was found to be in possession of a large wrap of suspected Class A drugs, cash, mobile and scales. She was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled substance.’

The spokesman added: ‘One man was found to have a large plastic bag containing a large number of wraps believed to contain heroin and crack cocaine.

‘He was also found to be in possession of several hundred pounds in cash in his wallet and a mobile phone.

‘The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled substance. A second man was also located within the address and arrested for an outstanding fail-to-appear warrant.’
