Fire crews tackle dishwasher blaze at Bovey Tracey property

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blazing dishwasher at a property in Churchfields Drive, Bovey Tracey, last night.

Crews from the town and from Newton Abbot used two hosereel jets and a safety jet to extinguish the fire which caused 15 per cent severe damage to the kitchen.

The 999 call was made just before 9pm.

A fire spokesman said the rest of the property was affected by smoke. A fan was used to vent the property.

The cause of the incident was ‘accidental.’
