MORE than 20 firefighters tackled a property blaze in Bovey Tracey on Wednesday.

Four fire crews were despatched to deal with the incident at a two-storey property in Chappel Road just after 9.30am.

A fire spokesman said no one was at the address at the time of the emergency.

He said fire damage was confined to a first floor bedroom, although the rest of the home was smoke-logged.

Police were called to set up road diversions and relieve heavy traffic congestion around the area.

Some fire crews were still at the scene damping down at lunch-time.
