A GARAGE was destroyed in a blaze at Cooke Drive, Ipplepen, near Newton Abbot yesterday (Tuesday).

The Devon and Somerset Fire Service was called to smoke coming from a garage attached to a property.

One crew from Torquay and two crews from Newton Abbot attended.

A fire service spokesperson said: ‘On arrival the crews confirmed that there was a fire in the garage and got to work.

‘They used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a safety jet to extinguish the fire and one thermal imaging camera to ensure the area was safe.

‘The fire completely destroyed the garage.’
