A DOZEN cylinders were rescued from a van after it was set alight in Kingsteignton this morning.

Firefighters from Newton Abbot removed the cylinders as a precautionary measure as they tackled the blaze just before 6am on the Rydon estate.

A fire spokesman said the incident happened on a private driveway.

‘The van was severely damaged by fire and the cause was deliberate,’ said the spokesman.

Two sets of breathing gear were worn by firefighters who used two hoses to extinguish the fire.
