The sentence of a couple who peddled heroin in South Devon has been delayed because one of them is facing new charges.

James Martin and Kelly Woodward were caught with drugs and £7,930 when police raided their home in December 2015 and he is now facing further allegations of possessing six grams of the drug.

Assistant Judge Advocate General Alistair McGrigor adjourned both sentences until the fresh matters are resolved. He released them both on jail.

Martin, aged 44, and Woodward, aged 33, both of Lower Cannon Road, Heathfield, Newton Abbot, were due to be sentenced for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and the possession of criminal property.

At an earlier hearing, Woodward had also admitted possession of heroin with intent to supply on December 23, 2015.

Miss Janice Eagles, prosecuting, said Martin has been charged with a new offence of possession of heroin but this may be uprated to the more serious charge of possession with intent to supply.
