THREE cars in Kingsteignton were ‘keyed’ on three consecutive nights.

PCSO Vanessa Pike told Kingsteignton Town Council the cars, all parked in Church Street, were deliberately damaged with a sharp object just before Christmas.

In her monthly report to councillors on Wednesday, PCSO Pike told the council that, apart from the ‘keying’ incidents, it had been a quiet month in the town.

She said: ‘Christmas and New Year’s Eve were quiet and, apart from some shoplifting incidents in the retail areas of the town, the run-up to Christmas was very quiet, too.’

PCSO Pike told councillors she had contacted the owner of a green Peugeot car, which has been parked and abandoned on the edge of a bus stop in Vicarage Hill since Christmas.

‘The car is not legal but has an owner who has been contacted and so hopefully it will be gone soon,’ she said. ‘We’ve also contacted Teignbridge District Council who have attached a seven-day notice to the car, to have it removed.’
