TWO lorries burst into flames after colliding on the A38 at Chudleigh this morning.

More than 20 firefighters were called to the slip road on the Exeter-bound carriageway after the accident involving a flatbed lorry and a seven-and-a-half-tonne truck.

A fire spokesman said no one was injured or trapped in the incident which happened just after 11.15am.

Fire crews attended from Newton Abbot, Ashburton and Bovey Tracey together with a water foam carrier team from Torquay and heavy rescue specialist operators from Exeter.

Major traffic hold-ups were reported extending back to Drumbridges.
