A RECYCLING lorry caught alight on the Buckland estate in Newton Abbot.

Firefighters from the town, together with a crew from Torquay, were able to quickly extinguish the blaze in the vehicle’s exhaust system.

A spokesman said little damage was caused to the truck in Frobisher Road. The alarm was raised just before 11am on Thursday.

The cause was listed as accidental.
