AN ELDERLY man died after after his car collided with another in Teignmouth yesterday afternoon. (Monday)

The casualty, who has not yet been named, was aged 78 and local to the Teignmouth area.

Police and paramedics were called to the Exeter Road junction with Quay Road after the man’s gold Land Rover Freelander was involved in a collision with a red Peugeot 208 at about 2.30pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 52-year-old female driver of the Peugeot, from the Dawlish area, escaped with minor injuries as did her 93-year-old female passenger from Teignmouth.

A police Roads Policing Team attended the scene together with officers from the resort.

They are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the accident, together with motorists who might have dash-cam footage of the scene at the time.
