The two other offences in the town - between 2009 and 2011 - relate to the alleged rape of a woman over the age of 16 and engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.

Three other alleged sexual offences involving a girl aged 15 - in Torquay between 2008 and 2009 - were also listed when the defendant appeared before magistrates in Torquay yesterday.

Mr Kelly, of Mallock Road, Torquay, was sent to Exeter Crown Court.

He was remanded on conditional bail until the hearing on October 28.
