A man has admitted robbing a pensioner in his Newton Abbot home and stealing cash and a satchel, writes our Crown Court correspondent.
Luke Stocker admitted robbery when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court via video link from Exeter Prison, where he is remanded in custody.
Stocker, aged 24, of Drake Road, Newton Abbot, admitted robbing 77-year-old Brian Newton aon October 25 of a wallet, satchel and cash.
Judge Francis Gilbert, QC, adjourned the case for four weeks for a probation pre- sentence report.
William Parkhill, mitigating, said it is a serious case involving an assault on a 77-year-old man at his home.
He said: "The allegation is that this defendant disturbed the victim as he returned home from a night out. He maintains he did not hit him with his walking stick."
