A MAN was knocked unconscious by an attacker as he made his way home in Kingsteignton.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 55-year-old victim was set upon in Gestridge Road at about 11.30pm on March 31, a Saturday.
Details of the violence were only released this afternoon.
The casualty, who has not been named, was on his way home when the offender struck.
A police spokesman said: ‘He was punched in the face, causing him to fall to the floor where he further injured his head and became unconscious.’
Two unknown members of the public found the man on the pavement and took him home.
The offender has been described as a male in his mid-20s who was an estimated 5ft 2ins tall.
He is thought to have dark hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing dark jeans and a leather jacket.
