A MAN was rushed to hospital after allegedly being attacked by someone with a knuckleduster in Ideford on Christmas Eve.

Police and paramedics were called to a property in Church Road after a 56-year-old man suffered a cut above his right eye and swelling and bruising to the face.

His injuries, described as ‘quite nasty,’ were received after an alleged argument between two men at the address.

The casualty, who has not been named, was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for further care.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were called to an address in Church Road at 12.20am on December 24.

He added that a 51-year-old man has been released on police bail until March 2 pending further inquiries.
