A MAN is being rescued after falling 30ft down a disused quarry in Torbryan this morning.

All three emergency services were called to Orley Common after the alarm was raised just before 11am.

A police spokesman said it appeared the casualty was conscious and breathing at the site of his tumble.

Devon’s air ambulance was called to the scene, where it was hoped ropes could be used to pluck the fall victim to safety.
