A cannabis user from Newton Abbot has admitted robbing a woman and attacking her and stabbing another man at a house near Tiverton.
Christopher Kelly changed his pleas on the day before he was due to stand trial at Exeter Crown Court accused of a series of offences arising from the same incident.
Kelly, aged 47, of Church Road, Newton Abbot, admitted robbery, two counts of actual bodily harm, and threatening a man with a knife at a property in Halberton, near Tiverton, on October 30, 2016.
One of the assaults was a stabbing in which victim Stuart Marshall suffered a wound in his leg.
Kelly had previously admitted criminal damage to a double glazed window at the house and to possession of cannabis.
He appeared at Exeter Crown Court by video link from Manchester Crown Court and was remanded in custody by Recorder Mr Philip Mott, QC, until a sentencing hearing next month.
He told him: ’You must realise that all options are open to the sentencing court and this case may require immediate custody.’
Miss Janice Eagles, prosecuting, said the pleas are acceptable and a further charge of burglary is not being pursued.
Mr Paul Dentith, mitigating, said the most serious offence was the assault on Mr Marshall in which he was stabbed in the leg.
He said the charge of using a knife to make threats carries a mandatory jail term, but he would be asking for it to be suspended.
He said Kelly has mental health issues and a doctor’s report should be available at the next hearing.
