AN ENVIRONMENTAL protection team from Newton Abbot was called to deal with a spill of 100 litres of sodium hydroxide in Exeter this morning.

They joined firefighters from the city in helping to clear up the highly caustic substance after it leaked from a drum on a delivery lorry at the Marsh Barton industrial estate just before 10am.
