ROADS in and out of Newton Abbot were closed off after a man was found dead near the A380 at Kingsteignton last night.
Police confirmed that officers were called out at 9.20pm yesterday to deal with a ‘concern for welfare’ incident.
A spokesman said this morning: ‘Emergency services attended, but a man was confirmed deceased at the scene.’
Road closures were put in place at the Penn Inn Flyover and the Ideford Dip with diversions around the sealed-off location.
Thge spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious - and a file would be prepared for the South Devon coroner.
Details of the dead man and the circumstances of his death have not yet been released.
