A LOCAL youngster had a lucky escape after he fell through a roof of a building in Newton Abbot’s livestock market last night (Friday).
A police spokesman said: "The lad was on top of a market shed close to the town’s multi-storey car park when the roof gave way."
This sent him plummeting about 12 foot on to the concrete floor, narrowly missing metal animal pens and market stands.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene just after 8.30pm before the casualty was taken to Torbay Hospital with minor head injuries.
