A WOMAN pedestrian in her 30s was injured in a road accident in Shaldon.

The casualty, 37, suffered head, shoulder and back injuries in the collision with a Newton Abbot-registered Ford Transit van.

The knock happened in The Strand just before 11am on Saturday.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were not thought to be serious.

A police spokesman said the road was cleared by 12.30pm.
