TWO people were detained during a police swoop in Newton Abbot town centre this afternoon.
Officers pounced to stop and search a vehicle they believed to be suspicious – and possibly linked to drugs activity.
The drama unfolded just before 1pm in King Street where a man and a woman were detained and searched.
A spokesman said a vehicle had been seized by police – and inquiries were continuing.
No arrests were made.
A witness at the scene said: ‘There were about five or six police cars at the scene where I saw quite a bit of cash and the contents of a bag scattered on the ground.
‘I saw two men being questioned by officers and a woman as well.’
