A MAN was attacked by a gang of five at a nightclub in Newton Abbot over the weekend.

The 20-year-old casualty from Paignton was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment.

Police are anxious to speak to anyone who saw the incident at the Enigma nightclub just after 1.30am on Sunday.

A spokesman said the victim was set upon by the offenders on the dance floor.

He was allegedly punched and kicked by his attackers.

The spokesman said officers wanted to hear from anyone who saw any incident inside or outside the club at about 1.40am.
