POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an estimated £20,000 worth of goods was stolen by thieves from a Newton Abbot town centre business.
Computers, mobiles, Ipads, tablets and other electronic equipment were snatched from PC and Phone Doctors in Union Street.
It’s believed thieves sneaked around the back of the building and broke into the shop to help themselves to the haul.
The business - which fixes customers’ broken digital gear - also lost items under repairs together with a small amount of cash from tills.
Owner Mark Phelps said: ‘Gutted is an understatement. I am just lost.’ He added:
‘It has taken us 20 years to get to where we are - and now its gone.’
It is not the first time he has been targeted by intruders. His business - which has a stall in the indoor market - had a £2,000 worth of goods stolen when the market was undergoing a refurbishment 10 years ago.
The shop is expected to be closed for a few days until the police have carried out their investigations.
Anyone with information about the incident - which took place between 5.30pm on June 5th and 9am today - should contact police on 101 quoting log 195 of today’s date.
