A POLICE hunt for a missing man in Newton Abbot switched to the town’s Bakers Park this afternoon.

Seven patrol vehicles were parked up at the local beauty spot as part of the search for 45-year-old local man Steve Hamlyn who was last seen yesterday.

The police helicopter was buzzing over the town just after 2pm as part of the search.

A police spokesman said just before 3pm that the ‘concern for welfare’ hunt was ‘ongoing.’

Anyone with information about Mr Hamlyn’s possible whereabouts should contact police on 101, quoting log 1066 of August 14.

He is said to be 5ft 9ins tall with short black hair, stubble and tattoos on his arms.
