A FIRE on Teignmouth Beach was extinguished by firefighters last night (Sun, Feb 25).

A fire spokesman said the small rubbish blaze had been started deliberately near the promenade.

The 999 call was made at 6.30pm with a crew from the resort taking just 15 minutes to deal with the incident.
