TWO men were seriously assaulted in Newton Abbot last night (Thursday).
Police were called to Newton Abbot Railway Station just after 10pm after a man was found on the platform with serious injuries to his head and face.
A police spokesperson said: ‘The victim, a man in his 30s and from Paignton, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
‘It is believed that the assault had taken place at an address in Quay Terrace earlier in the evening and the victim had made his way to the station.
‘Officers attended the property and located a second man with a number of knife wounds to his body and head. The man, in his 40s from Totnes, was also taken to hospital.
‘None of the injuries are described as life-threatening.
‘A 28-year-old man from Newton Abbot has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody.’
Police inquiries continue and a scene guard remains at the property.
