POLICE have taken the unusual step of highlighting a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) imposed on a man from Buckfastleigh.
They have also released a mugshot of Shaun Coles, 28, of Station Road, in the hope that townspeople will be aware of the restrictions imposed on him, including a ban from local pubs and not being allowed to have liquor in his possession.
The two-year CBO was issued by Torquay magistrates late last month after Coles had initially opposed the order which was imposed after his conviction in February for assaulting a female.
Details of the order were released on Facebook by the Ashburton and Chudleigh Policing Team who wanted to hear from anyone aware of any breaches of the Order.
The Order’s conditions for Coles were:
l Not to act in an anti-social manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person including members of the emergency services;
l Not to use offending, aggressive or obscene words or gestures in a public place that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any other person, including the emergency services;
l Not to be in possession of any alcohol in unsealed containers in any public place;
l Not to be drunk in a public place;
l Not to enter any public house in Buckfastleigh;
l Not to remain in any shop or licensed premises if asked to leave by staff, nor return to any premises from which banned unless with the express permission of the manager in the town of Buckfastleigh.
