A WOMAN was injured when her car was in collision with another on the Bovey Straits this morning.

The casualty, aged 60, was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment to a chest injury.

A blue Vauxhall Zafira from Exmouth was in collision with a blue Peugeot 107 from Torquay just after 8.15am.

All three emergency services attended the rush-hour accident. The A382 was closed between Pottery Road and Battle Road while the damaged vehicles were cleared from the scene.

The busy road was re-opened just before 9am.

Police said the woman’s injuries appeared to be minor.
