A WOMAN motorcyclist received serious leg injuries in a crash on a slip road of the A38 at Buckfastleigh yesterday evening (Monday).
At around 8.10pm a collision occurred at the top of the southbound offslip of the A38, at Buckfastleigh. The road was closed for around three hours.
A police spokesperson said: ‘The collision involved a black Mutt 125cc motorcycle, ridden by a 27-year-old woman, and a white Volvo articulated goods vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man.
‘As a result of the collision the rider of the motorcycle has sustained serious injuries to her leg and was taken to Derriford Hospital where the injuries were stabilised. The lorry driver was uninjured.
‘The road was closed for approximately three hours while police conducted an examination of the scene.
‘The Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Team would be interested in hearing from any witnesses to the scene.
‘If those witnesses saw the collision occur, they are asked to call 101 or email Devon and Cornwall Police, quoting log number 828 of the 13th September.’
