A car enthusiast from Kingsteignton will have her beloved Morris Minor 1000 featured as a police vehicle in a one-off TV film made by the Comic Strip team.

The Hunt For Tony Blair is a 50s-style 'fugitive' film noir spoof due to be transmitted on Channel 4 in the next few weeks with several British stars.

Brenda Lane bought the 1963 model ten years ago and was called up by the makers of the show asking if they could use it.

'It's the same make and colour of police cars back then,' said Richard Lane, Brenda's husband.

'They did alterations to it by making the front doors white and put a siren on the top of it.'

The Lanes took the car to Cornwood for a day of filming a few months ago.
