As disaffected youths in cities across Britain were this week taking part in the worst riots the country has witnessed for decades, one Kingsteignton teenager proved himself to be a 'brilliant' ambassador for his generation.
Adam Green, a 15-year-old Teign School student and spokesman for the Kingsteignton Riders' Union, has been presented with a Police Commander's certificate at a ceremony attended by his family.
He received the award for his outstanding contribution towards the new £53,000 BMX ramp at Clifford Park, which was installed in June.
Adam's efforts alone brought in more than £1,000, and on several occasions during the project's development he liaised with Teignbridge Council and other organisations on behalf of his fellow riders and skaters.
